About the organization

We are a small -- 115 student -- PK to 12th grade international school based in francophone Conakry, Guinea in existence since 1963. We are the only accredited school in the country, accredited by the Middle States Association. Our language of instruction is English. Currently two of our 17 extraordinary teachers are Returned Peace Corps Volunteers from Guinea.


School Guidance Counselor:
Provide academic, social, and emotional support for students.
Conduct individual and group counseling.
Collaborate with teachers and parents to address individual needs.
Conduct assessments and offer counseling services.
Guide students in setting academic and career goals.
Deliver lessons on Social Emotional Learning, stress management, conflict resolution, and career exploration.
Create a safe and inclusive environment for students.
Contribute to the holistic development of students.
Advocate for mental health awareness and reduce stigma.

College Counselor:
Under the tutelage and direction of the school’s current College Counselor, will…
Assist in researching and selecting suitable colleges for our high schoolers, but especially our seniors.
Prepare students for standardized tests and guide them through the application process.
Provide personalized advice on college essays, interviews, and scholarships.
Stay informed about admission trends and requirements.
Build relationships with college admissions officers.
Empower students to make informed decisions about college choices.
Help students present their best selves to prospective institutions.
Advocate for students during the college admissions process.
Assist students in researching scholarship opportunities.
Perform other duties as directed by the Director.


● Degree in counseling, preferred.
● Degree or coursework in Counseling.
● Full-time Guidance Counseling experience.
* Interest in transitioning into a full-time Guidance Counselor / College Counselor.
● Fluency in written and spoken English required.
● Facility in French language preferred.
● Previous experience living in West Africa preferred.
● Flexibility and sense of humor a must.


Based on education, years of experience, certfication can range from $28,000 to $37,000 with r/t airfare, two-bedroom apt,, worldwide medical insurance included. Savings potential is enormous.
