Macfadden is now part of PAE. Founded over 30 years ago, Macfadden has provided federal agencies with critical on-the-ground support to U.S. government humanitarian missions around the world as well as financial and IT system support. Through program management, human resources services, financial management systems support, information technology solutions, knowledge management, travel coordination and communications support, Macfadden enables effective U.S. government humanitarian response to international disasters. Macfadden’s workforce includes approximately 300 employees primarily located in the Washington, D.C. area.
Macfadden, now part of PAE, is seeking a Grants Auditor to support our USAID contract. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance’s (DCHA), Office of Food for Peace (FFP) requires crucial operational and administrative support in coordinating USAID’s international disaster response and humanitarian assistance, emergency and developmental food assistance, and other DCHA Bureau initiatives.
FFP is one of the nine DCHA offices headquartered in Washington, D.C. FFP manages the majority of the U.S. Government’s food assistance resources. Its programs are authorized by Title II of the Food for Peace Act, as amended by the Agricultural Act of 2014, and the Foreign Assistance Act (FAA). FFP funds and manages emergency and development food assistance projects. Currently, FFP administers emergency food assistance with International Disaster Assistance (IDA), which is authorized and apportioned through the FAA, Title II resources from the FFP Act, and when appropriate, with Overseas Contingency Operations funds (OCO). IDA supports FFP’s Emergency Food Security Program (EFSP). FFP administers development food assistance with Title II resources and development assistance dollars called community development funds (CDF). FFP uses Title II resources to procure and program in-kind agricultural commodities.
Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field with a minimum of 6 years of audit experience is preferred.
BS/BA Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience will also be considered
Applicants must hold an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation with three to five years of public accounting experience, preferably specializing in internal controls, audit compliance, risk assessment, etc….
Qualified candidates must have the following prior experience:
Proven track record of experience in working with various US Government Agencies in an inter-agency environment and/or USG contractors and recipients.
Experience assisting grant award recipients in remediating audit findings related to internal controls deficiencies.
Financial management and report writing experience and extensive knowledge of USAID audit requirements for U.S. and non-U.S. based grantees.
Grant Audit experience and knowledge of Assistance Awards (grants or cooperative agreements Management.
Experience performing audits and/or Pre-Award Survey Reviews.
Experience in Internal Controls and Compliance.
Experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
U.S. Citizenship is required; selected candidate must be able to qualify for a government sponsored clearance.
