Duties

Responsibilities include:
Serve as a point of contact for individuals interested in serving as Peace Corps Volunteers and as
a liaison between UGA and regional and national Peace Corps offices
• Lead outreach and recruitment for Peace Corps and Peace Corps Prep on campus
including classroom presentations, info sessions, events, workshops, tabling, etc.,
following the details of the Peace Corps Recruiter contract
• Prepare the weekly listserv message for students interested in Peace Corps or Peace
Corps Prep
• Represent Peace Corps at events throughout the year including, but not limited to, career
fairs, study abroad fairs, and panels
• Provide monthly updates to the Global Education Director and quarterly updates to the
Peace Corps Advisory Board
• Monitor and manage student applications for Peace Corps Prep in the UGA StudyAway
Portal
• Advise students on Peace Corps opportunities, application process and resources
• Prepare regular reporting for the Peace Corps regional and national offices
• Continue building and making use of the large UGA and Athens area RPCV community in
support of recruitment activities
• Other projects as assigned by the Director

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• Prior service as a Peace Corps Volunteer
• Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program at UGA
• Experience advising or working with university students
• Strong oral communication skills (ability to prepare and present information to groups of
5-300 within the university community and the community-at-large)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent written communication skills
• Willingness to reach out to different people and university departments to educate about
Peace Corps opportunities
• Experience with event planning, collaboration, and outreach
• Proficiency in PC based software (Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Microsoft Excel)
• Attention to detail, high level of organization, and ability to work independently
• Strong tolerance of ambiguity and ability to adjust to changing environment
• Appreciation for diversity and multiculturalism
• Maturity, high level of professionalism, creativity, and be a self-starter
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of two years availability in the graduate program
• Flexible schedule to assist with various programming
