About the organization

Ayeyarwaddy International School opened in 2012/13 with approximately 400 students from preschool to Grade 8. We currently have over 1,100 students. For the next school year (2020/21), we will have approximately 1,200 students from preschool to Grade 12. We are fully accredited by WASC and members of EARCOS. We are a dynamic, fast-growing, and positive community. Duties

Grade 2 Position: Beginning in February, we will need a Second Grade teacher to take over for a teacher on maternity leave. The position will run until the end of the school year (May 30). Priority will be given to candidates who are looking to continue teaching at AIS for the 2020/21 school year. The main duty is to teach the Grade 2 curriculum for all subjects (English, Social Studies, Math, and Science) to one class of 25 or fewer students.

KG/Preschool Position: Beginning in February, we will need a KG/Preschool teacher to take over for a teacher on maternity leave. The position will run until the end of the school year (May 30). Priority will be given to candidates who are looking to continue teaching at AIS for the 2020/21 school year. The main duty is to teach the Montessori curriculum in the forenoons to one class of 25 or fewer students (ages 3-6) and to teach reading and writing in the afternoons to a small class of KG students.

Qualifications

Grade 2 Position: The ideal candidate will be familiar with the Common Core Standards and the US education system in general. In addition, the candidate must be a native English speaker who can begin work around the middle of February, 2020. We seek positive individuals who follow a healthy lifestyle and who put their students' needs first.

KG/Preschool Position: The ideal candidate will have a degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education and familiarity with the Montessori system of education. In addition, the candidate must be a native English speaker who can begin work around the middle of February, 2020. We seek positive individuals who follow a healthy lifestyle and who put their students' needs first.

Salary

$25,000-$30,000 plus free apartment
