Rio Salado College is one of 10 community colleges in the Maricopa County Community College District in Phoenix, Arizona. Rio Salado College offers non-credit English language and GED test preparation classes through their Community Development Department. Instructors and support staff are needed at six class locations. Duties
Provides in-person instruction to adults to successfully acquire the knowledge necessary to earn their high school equivalency diploma, improve English language skills, and/or develop academic readiness to transition to college or career pathways. Utilizes and integrates technology in the classroom and follows required curriculum and Arizona Adult Education Standards for instruction.
70% Instructs adults in GED/HSE or English language classes
10% Engages in student assessment and regular review of student progress data
10% Maintains accurate student records, required forms and documents, attendance hours, and other documents as required by the program
10% Engages in job-embedded professional learning
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related degree
Experience teaching in one or more of the following areas: English/Language Arts, Math, Social Studies and Science
Must possess or have the ability to obtain an Arizona Adult Education Certification within 60 days of hire
Salary
$18.50 - $20.00/ hour
