Duties

Oversee day-to-day operations of the facilities and research activities that take place at the San Dimas Experimental Forest (SDEF). Be responsible for collecting the meteorology and hydrology data streams from the SDEF, transferring those records to spreadsheets, and servicing and trouble-shooting the various data collectors. Issue research permits and oversee cooperators doing field studies on the SDEF. Interface with contractors and special use permitees working on the SDEF. Coordinate with personnel from the Angeles National Forest and the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument on projects within the SDEF. Document the use of the SDEF by cooperators, contractors, and NFS employees for year-end reporting, including any research publications. Assist the Southern California PSW Facilities Manager with facility and engineering projects on the SDEF and potentially other southern California PSW research locations. Participate in fieldwork with PSW scientists and professionals from all Research Program areas throughout southern California, limited by commitments to the SDEF.

Specialized experience similar to described duties; equivalent to a GS-07 technician. Graduate degree in biological sciences, agriculture, or related area may be qualifying without specific experience.
