The Georgetown University Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) serves countries to improve their population health and well-being and to safeguard against health-related threats by advancing the use of evidence and human-centered enterprise architecture on the path towards achieving equity and social justice. To achieve this mission, we catalyze the uptake, spread, and implementation of innovations; triangulate data from different sources, and tailor visualization of the information for each audience; design and implement integrated service delivery models; support communities of practice to inform policy and practice through efficient data use and horizontal and vertical collaboration; disseminate best practices and evidence globally through open source learning networks; build global, collaborative, multi-disciplinary, and interprofessional networks; undertake research informed by local needs; and invest in local leadership to own and sustain interventions.
CGHPI has recently received an award from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention through funding from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to support HIV response efforts in Cameroon for achievement of HIV epidemic control to implement a program titled Translating Data and Evidence into Impact (TIDE). As a result, CGHPI is recruiting for a field-based Financial Manager to provide financial accounting, reporting, and management support for program operations.
The holder of the position will ensure the program’s finances are managed according to Federal rules and regulations, the institution’s policies and procedures, national laws and regulations and according to internationally accepted accounting and financial management standards. In addition, the selected individual will provide oversight and monitor sub-grantees and contractors’ financial operations to ensure they are compliant with award funding rules and regulations as they will be stipulated and all other applicable laws, rules, policies, procedures and regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Degree in Finance or Accounting with at least 8 years of experience managing large budgets in a reputable organization
* MUST have Professional Qualification, e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong presentation and persuasion abilities
* Excellent writing skills
* Analytical skills
* Strategic thinking
* Leadership skills
* Ability to work under pressure
* Advanced computer skills (Ms Office, financial management packages and relational databases)
* proficiency is a MUST, and working knowledge of English will be an added advantage
