The Georgetown University Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI) serves countries to improve their population health and well-being and to safeguard against health-related threats by advancing the use of evidence and human-centered enterprise architecture on the path towards achieving equity and social justice. To achieve this mission, we catalyze the uptake, spread, and implementation of innovations; triangulate data from different sources, and tailor visualization of the information for each audience; design and implement integrated service delivery models; support communities of practice to inform policy and practice through efficient data use and horizontal and vertical collaboration; disseminate best practices and evidence globally through open source learning networks; build global, collaborative, multi-disciplinary, and interprofessional networks; undertake research informed by local needs; and invest in local leadership to own and sustain interventions.
CGHPI has recently received an award from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention through funding from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to support HIV response efforts in Cameroon for achievement of HIV epidemic control to implement a program titled Translating Data and Evidence into Impact (TIDE). As a result, CGHPI is recruiting for a field-based Country Program Director to lead implementation activities in Cameroon.
The Field Operations Manager TIDE Program Cameroon, will take front-line responsibility for ensuring effective logistic, operations, and administrative support of country programs. Reporting to the Country Program Director, this individual will provide business and operational support for the country office. The Field Operations Manager will ensure that organizational administrative, logistic systems, and processes function to meet internal needs for implementing programs. The Operations Manager will liaise with external agencies that affect program operations, and will in turn advise management of the organization on key processes and actions that need to be taken to make the country office compliant.
Requirements and Qualifications
* MBA or other graduate degree in management with proven operations management competence
* A minimum of 5 years of experience managing and/or supporting in-country health programs
* Excellent communication, writing, human capital, and management skills
* At least 5 years of staff supervisory experience
* Ability to prioritize, organize, and implement operational procedures
* Proficiency in French language is a MUST in addition to English proficiency
* Experience working and living in Cameroon
