Gulf Coast JFCS is comprised of over 550 dedicated people committed to improving the lives children and families of all religions and nationalities. The only prerequisite is need. Annually, GCJFCS supports more than 40,000 people throughout Florida. Our programs are designed to protect children from abuse and neglect; to help people overcome substance abuse, to manage mental health, or to gain control of debilitating behaviors; to care for and connect seniors to needed services; to provide emergency financial and food assistance to support Holocaust survivors; and to welcome and help resettle refugees from around the world.
This is a professional exempt position, responsible for providing therapeutic and support services to children and families involved in the foster care system. This professional position will help children transition back into their home by providing in-home counseling and help link families to services in the community.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Provide direct counseling to children and families in order to help them transition successfully as a family unit.
Provide effective role modeling and monitor the families to ensure they are able to implement the new skills they have learned.
To attend meetings with families to ensure they are on target when it come to the meeting the needs of the children.
Attend FRT staffing and court as needed.
To provide immediate feedback to supervisors/ CMO Case Managers when a concern arises.
To provide a monthly written report on the status of the cases to the supervisor/CMO Case Manager, and will ensure the report is filed with the court.
To provide intensive in-home services to families with the goal of reunification.
The Family Reunification Specialist should have a master’s degree in a human services related field with minimum of one year experience in human services.
Consideration for applications who have a bachelor’s degree in a human services related field with a minimum of 4 years post-bachelor’s experience in human services related field.
A specialized certification, such as a CAP, may substitute for one year of the required experience.
