Brooklyn Global Prep is a child-centric haven that utilizes language immersion, creative open spaces, nature, art and music to continue the path of happy, culturally diverse, open-minded global thinkers and forever learners. We partner with our students’ families and communities to foster a true love of language, culture, education and the arts to grow into global leaders of the next generation.
Brooklyn Global Prep is a unique, Reggio-inspired Language Immersion Preschool in the beautiful Oosten building located in the Williamsburg waterfront district, just one subway stop from Manhattan, seconds from the East River Ferry and right at the base of the Williamsburg Bridge. We provide a variety of innovative, language immersion school experiences for our youngest learners. Children spend their day immersed in rich vocabulary in Mandarin Chinese or French. While our academic curriculum is presented by loving native speaking teachers, in an interactive and engaging way.
The successful candidate will:
Support staff to implement a developmentally appropriate STEM curriculum that meets the physical, intellectual and social emotional needs of each child to promote individualized growth and development,
Provide leadership and supervision for all teaching staff. Support teachers with lesson plans and curriculum implementation, scheduling trainings, providing staff development workshops and more,
Lead a classroom in a comprehensive manner using a variety of hands on approaches to learning. Assess and record students’ progress and provide tailored support and feedback to each student based on their individual needs,
Help build a passionate, unified, and multicultural community by supporting the hiring processes of staff and the enrollment of students,
Ensure city and state compliance at all times. Help establish and maintain efficient record-keeping processes, including health logs, required DOH paperwork, family communication documents, surveys, and more,
Stay up to date on innovative practices, systems, and technologies in ECE to support the team to understand and implement new and cutting-edge concepts,
Additional duties as needed for this role and growing organization.
Baccalaureate degree in early childhood education or related field of study,
At least two years of experience as a group teacher or on the teaching staff in a child care program for children under 24 months of age,
Valid certification issued by the State Education Department, pursuant to 8 NYCRR §80 or successor rule,
Deep understanding of STEM curriculum and best practices,
Excellent administrative and organizational skills including basic financial management, record keeping, and the ability to handle multiple tasks or crisis situations effectively,
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to articulate and embody the mission of Brooklyn Global Prep to staff, parents, and community members,
Ability to meet physical requirements of position which include lifting children, year-round daily physical activities, and more,
Bilingual preferred but not required,
Certifications in CPR, First Aid and Mental Health are preferred but not required.
