About the organization
The Kansas City Public Library has been granted the opportunity by AmeriCorps to serve as an intermediary sponsor—The Library VISTA Project. As an intermediary, the Library partners with local organizations serving as AmeriCorps member host sites. AmeriCorps members provide a year of service, bringing their passion and perseverance where the need is greatest: to organizations that help eradicate poverty. Library VISTA Project members serve in a professional setting building partnerships, raising awareness, writing grants, organizing volunteers, and more.
The Don Bosco Communications and Marketing Specialist would increase and deepen the community’s connection to clients and our mission with storytelling and other compelling visual content for website, social and traditional media. Assess and improve agency marketing strategies across all communication platforms. Create and implement annual communication calendar. Improve donor experience by creating engaging content and a sustainable communication strategy. Engage in ongoing professional development.
About Don Bosco Centers: Don Bosco Centers’ mission of cultivating self-sufficient neighbors for a stronger community has remained steadfast throughout the organization’s 80-year history. This is accomplished through targeted services at the Senior Center, ESL School, and Community Center. The Communications and Marketing Specialist will help tell our clients’ stories, to reach and engage community supporters. The Specialist will increase supporter engagement and donor investment in special events, fundraising campaigns, and friend-raising activities.
