About the organization
All Hands and Hearts effectively and efficiently addresses the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters. We communicate directly with local leaders and community members and then deploy our unique model of engaging volunteers to enable direct impact, helping to build safer, more resilient schools, homes and infrastructure.
Through community and volunteer engagement, we focus on helping families recover faster after natural disasters using our Smart Response strategy. In doing so, we strengthen both our volunteers and the communities in which we serve.
A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides relief to survivors of natural disasters by mobilizing volunteers. The Director of Wellbeing will be a licensed health professional who is responsible for promoting positive wellbeing in regard to mental and social well-being. This will be a hands on role, training and supporting teams across the world and acting as a point of escalation for mental health crises to outside resources and support.
Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, or other related field.
3 years of clinical experience in primary-care setting as a mental health nurse, psychiatric nurse or role with equivalent experience.
Regard for others and respect for individual rights of autonomy and confidentiality
Skills in communicating clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing
Experience in supporting survivors after critical incidents and people suffering a mental health crisis.
Ability to work alone, leveraging expert external resources as required.
Experience or an understanding of humanitarian operations is an advantage.
Exhibits a demonstrated interest in working in the not-for-profit space. We will positively consider previous experience working for All Hands and Hearts or another disaster response organization.
Previous international work experience, preferably in less developed countries.
Based remotely in home office. Travel required up to 25-50% of the time.
