About the organization
All Hands and Hearts effectively and efficiently addresses the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters. We communicate directly with local leaders and community members and then deploy our unique model of engaging volunteers to enable direct impact, helping to build safer, more resilient schools, homes and infrastructure.
Through community and volunteer engagement, we focus on helping families recover faster after natural disasters using our Smart Response strategy. In doing so, we strengthen both our volunteers and the communities in which we serve.
A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides relief to survivors of natural disasters by mobilizing volunteers. The Director of Health Safety & Security oversees all aspects of these areas of expertise, within the execution of our unique, but effective, model.
The current primary objective is to support the program teams as we work through the pandemic. This includes continual refinement and improvement of the COVID-19 safety system, working hand-in-hand with the Operations Management team.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
5 years of Health and Safety experience, ideally with a mix of regulatory zones (i.e. US OSHA, UK HSE, etc...)
Experience or an understanding of humanitarian operations is an advantage.
A common sense approach to risk management, which is focused on how to enable teams to deliver, safely.
Exhibits a demonstrated interest in working in the not-for-profit space. We will positively consider previous experience working for All Hands and Hearts or another disaster response organization.
Familiarity with project management and, specifically around construction I management a plus.
Previous international work experience, preferably in less developed countries.
