Serves as lead relationship manager to health care clients
Confidently engages with senior client staff and leadership, including leading client meetings
Builds credibility with clients by offering knowledgeable observations, insights and strategic thinking regarding communications and public affairs activities, informed by prior experience and deep knowledge of the sector
Guides internal teams in the development of client strategy and planning
Actively engages in team member development; acts as a leader and mentor to team members
Demonstrates performance in growing clients organically and actively pursues new opportunities with prospects, including leading business development activities
Maintains a strong professional network and is viewed as an issue expert in the market
Leads and engages in annual business planning efforts


At least 10 years of experience in health policy communications; combination of agency, in-house, and trade association experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Demonstrated success navigating challenging policy, political, and business issues in the health care industry
Strategic thinker able to draw from expertise across corporate reputation, public affairs, public policy, crisis management and stakeholder engagement
Maintains a strong industry network and is viewed as a thought leader in the market
Develop and enhance market presence for the firm’s Washington DC health policy offering
Combination of agency and Hill, trade association or Director-level in-house experience

For example:
In-house in a policy role
Capitol Hill health experience (e.g. legislative director)
Trade association (AHIP, PhRMA)
Collaborative mindset and experience working seamlessly across teams, practices and geographies
Mentor and coach to junior members of team, commitment to professional development
Lead teams and projects, directing strategy, overseeing quality of work and balancing staffing appropriately
Supports annual business planning efforts and identifies new business leads in addition to growing current business
