About the organization

The Northern Hope Center (NHC) is the only drop in center for people suffering from mental illness in all of interior Alaska. NHC is led and operated by members and provides valuable peer support services to assist members in achieving long-term stability and financial independence.

Duties

The main objectives of the Development Coordinator VISTA will be to expand the organizational capacity and long-term financial sustainability of Northern Hope Center. The activities for this position will include: 1. Identify and create a list of recommended training needed to implement the peer-support programming improvements 2. Coordinate peer-support training and “train the trainer” courses to ensure the required training is sustainable beyond the VISTA term 3. Research effective fundraising practices 4. Create a list of recommended fundraising activities 5. Research effective donor solicitation and relationship development strategies and make recommendations 6. Develop targeted donor list 7. Produce a donor engagement strategy

Qualifications

Education: high school diploma/GED

Minimum age: 18

Ability to integrate into the Fairbanks community and excitement to fight poverty through local nonprofit work!

Salary

$1,333/month
