The Departmental Offices (DO) is the headquarters for the U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury) and provides leadership in economic and financial policy, financial intelligence and enforcement, and general management. Treasury utilizes effective management, policies, and leadership to protect our national security through targeted financial actions, promoting the stability of the nation’s financial markets, and ensuring that the Government has the ability to collect revenue and fund its operations.

This position is located in DO, Assistant Secretary for Management, Office of Financial Management (OFM). At a high-level, OFM serves as the primary financial management point of contact for Treasury, which includes providing support and oversight for budget execution, travel, and budget analytics. In that role, OFM recommends budget priorities and strategies for DO, provides oversight of DO’s finances, and completes all related financial reporting.


Treasury’s headquarters is seeking entry-level and experienced staff in business intelligence, financial process design, and oversight of financial activities. Analysts will be responsible for working with users to develop or refine financial processes and to create automated financial reporting (dashboards, interactive reports, etc.) that allow users to complete their jobs easier and more efficiently. In addition, analysts will utilize and design automated reporting that allows them to provide oversight of DO accounts and financial transactions.


This position is ideal for highly skilled and motivated people who can budget and creatively solve problems. Applicants must be entrepreneurial and ready to help build the plane while flying it. Individuals on this team have a lot of autonomy and exposure to executives, as well as the chance to build new tools and revamp how Treasury operates from a financial perspective. The team works on a variety of activities, which range from behind-the-scenes funding issues to advanced reporting and analysis for the Secretary of the Treasury and other high-level executives and appointees. Our office is a fast-paced, high-functioning, dynamic environment that requires a collaborative spirit and the ability to transition seamlessly from working on individual projects to group projects with a wider range of Treasury staff. This candidate must have active Noncompetitive Eligibility.
