FULLY VIRTUAL POSITION - Must be located in the US. Position is Temporary/Full-Time (m-f)

This position assists the ISMU with data needs and reports to the first-line supervisor or designee. The incumbent performs a broad range of duties relating to data management by employing multiple data systems to compile, edit, and distribute technical data related to Imports, Regulations and Manuals (IRM.)

This position is part of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS); Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ); Policy Management (PM); Plant Health Programs (PHP); Exclusion; Imports, Regulations, and Manuals (IRM); Information Services and Manuals Unit (ISMU).


The incumbent enters information into databases; performs quality control activities; and uses external databases to validate information.

Ensures the integrity of the data through reviews of all applicable input and output reports.

Conducts random quality assurance of data by verifying computer-generated data on output reports against data on the original input reports and data files through queries.

Identifies and determines the source of identified data errors by tracing the errors through the databases from the output reports to the computer data files and uses standard operating procedures to correct all identified errors.


Having biology or agriculture experience or knowledge is a preference, but not required.


Experience: 1 full year of experience performing data work including inputting, analyzing, reviewing, generating, validating, comparing, tacking, and reporting computer data.


Education: You may have 4 full years of education or a bachelors degree of any kind.

Preferences including, good listening skills, working independently, and takes instruction well since this job is fully virtual.


$35,265 to $45,847
