Duties

The incumbent will provide technical support (on behalf of the Carter Center) to the Ministry of Health, Republic of Chad, Guinea Worm Eradication Program (CGWEP) related to data collection, editing, processing, reporting, and analysis. They will supervise and monitor the CGWEP data management systems by providing direct, day-to-day monitoring, management, and oversight of the same. Using the appropriate computer software (e.g. Microsoft Excel), the incumbent will ensure entry of all data is made in a timely manner and accurately reflects report hard copies. They will evaluate the usefulness of current analyses for understanding transmission dynamics of Guinea worm and make recommendations for adjustments as needed. The purpose of this position is to increase internal analytical capacity of the CGWEP, ensure the integrity of the data and of analyses and to increase the capacity of the program’s Data Management Team. The Data Manager is a supervisory position to the Data Team and should provide direct support, management and training for the Data Team. The incumbent will work under the general direction of the National Coordinator of the CGWEP and will be directly supervised by the Carter Center’s Country Representative. The position is based in N’Djamena with 2 weeks every month visiting field locations.

Qualifications

Spoken and Written Proficiency in French in Required.
