The Social Security Administration is seeking job applicants with exceptional customer service skills for a Customer Service Representative (CSR) position in the Missoula, Montana Social Security field office. This position is an entry level position for SSA’s field offices. Incumbents are responsible for providing direct service to the public. Customer Service Representatives assist the public both in person and by phone, conduct interviews, investigate and resolve beneficiary issues, and assess information to determine eligibility for Social Security benefits. This is a career ladder position with promotion to the GS-8 level after successful completion of agency training, and individual growth and development. We are looking for U.S. Citizens who are quick learners with good written and oral communication skills, strong customer service skills, and the ability to handle a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
GS-5: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study above high school (e.g., 120 earned semester hours, 180 earned quarter hours, bachelor's degree, etc.).
