About the organization

The Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits was formed in 2004 to be the unifying voice of the nonprofit sector in Arizona. We are the only statewide association dedicated to serving the needs of the more than 20,000 nonprofit organizations all across Arizona. We do this through advocacy, education, information, connection and resources, which are tailored specifically for nonprofits, their staff, their board and their volunteers. The Alliance has been managing an intermediary AmeriCorps VISTA grant for rural communities and statewide organizations for over 10 years.

Duties

The Cosanti Foundation located in Mayer, AZ aims to develop consistent and impactful STEM educational opportunities for K-12 audiences, with a special focus on providing access to our campuses to young people from underserved communities. Our campuses bring young people into contact with ideas, people, and spaces that will expand their worldview, increase awareness of important global and local sustainability issues, and provide inspiration for creative approaches to problem solving.

Member Duties : 1.Launch an environmentally-conscious Food Forest with Sustainable Food 2.Grant Writing and Fund Development to support the programming 3. Establish virtual learning opportunities and content for STEAM initiatives and archival resources. 4.. Develop a sustainable model for future programming

Qualifications

AmeriCorps VISTA members must
1) Be 18 years or older (no upper age limit)
2) Pass a national service criminal history check
3) Have a college degree or equivalent work experience
4) Hold one of the following citizenship or legal residency statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card status), and persons legally residing within a state. Examples of persons legally residing within a state may include those holding the following classifications: refugee, asylee, temporary protected status throughout VISTA service, and holding Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status.
