GSA’s core mission is to help federal agencies buy smarter, reduce their real estate footprint, provide efficient, cost saving technology and create a better, faster federal government. We are currently recruiting for Contract Specialist throughout various GSA’s offices and business lines.


At GSA, our Contract Specialists assist in pre-award and post-award acquisition activities supporting various GSA business and contracting activities such as:

1-Prepare Requests for Proposals/Quotes;

2-Evaluate proposals for completeness, acceptability and conformance with Government acquisition regulations;

3-Conduct cost and/or Price Analysis of proposals;

4-Attend and participate in negotiations between contractors and Government negotiators;

5-Assist Contracting Officer's with the execution of Contract Modifications; and

6-Performs special studies as needed and develops management reports involving acquisition activities.


GS-7: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience performing routine or developmental contracting assignments such as monitoring contractor performance for compliance with contract requirements, planning or carrying-out pre-award and/or post-award procurement actions, and resolving common procurement-related issues or problems.

GS-9: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting in the performance of recurring and developmental contracting assignments using your organization's acquisition regulations and/or policies and must have demonstrated two or more of the following pre-award and/or post award processes:

1-Using common contract vehicles (i.e. purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, etc.) to plan and carry out acquisition

2-Evaluating vendor orders for both technical and price/cost factors to ensure best value to the organization/agency;

3-Negotiating contracts, orders and/or modifications that are based upon previous examples/templates;

4-Responding to and resolving common acquisition issues/questions


GS-7: $47,016.00. GS-9: $57,510.00
