Positions are located in the Office of the Administrator, Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations in either of its two offices, the Office of Congressional Affairs or the Office of Intergovernmental Relations. The selected candidates will play an important part in providing support to the Agency’s senior leaders at the regional and headquarters offices, establishing and maintaining creating evidence-based approaches to support policymaking, as well as, assisting in creating more effective relationships between EPA and its intergovernmental partners.

Duties

At the entry level of the Congressional Liaison position, you will:

• Work with OCIR managers and staff, headquarters program offices and regional offices to respond to
Congressional inquiries, coordinate technical assistance to Congress, and notify Congress of agency activities.
• Assist OCIR senior management in preparing for and following up on EPA’s testimony for Congressional hearings.
• Collaborate with EPA program offices on drafting Congressional correspondence and testimony.
• Work closely with program offices and the regional offices to maintain awareness and knowledge of agency
bipartisan Infrastructure Law activities and priorities.

• Interest and aptitude for analyzing data and developing databases,
• Works well independently and on multi-disciplinary teams
• Ability to problem solve and resolve complex issues
• Possess a strong attention to detail

Qualifications based on an evaluation of a candidate’s education and qualifying experience.
