About the organization

Organization Description: Community Water Center Action Fund is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization formed to ensure that all communities have access to safe, clean, and affordable drinking water through organizing, advocacy, and political engagement. CWCAF’s team is passionate, dynamic, and believes in the cause of water justice and making real change driven directly by impacted communities. Our organizing and advocacy work, community collaborations, and organizational culture all reflect a concern for equity, mutual respect, appreciation for diversity, and environmental and social justice.

CWCAF is a sister organization to the Community Water Center (CWC). Certain activities listed below are carried out through an agreement authorizing the sharing of staff time between CWC and CWCAF.

Duties

General Duties
● Foster an environment that promotes trust and cooperation amongst CWCAF staff, community members, and affiliate organizations.
● Attend and actively participate in staff, management, planning, program meetings; reporting processes; and staff retreats.
● Actively participate in program strategy, including phone banking, canvassing campaign plan development, and staff meetings.
● Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, your Supervisor, and other Directors.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
● Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
● 2+ years of management experience with full-time staff or managing a team of canvassers.
● 2+ years of experience in community organizing, voter engagement, or political campaigns, with a demonstrated understanding of integrated voter engagement and direct campaigning strategies.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with community members, stakeholders, and elected officials.
● Flexibility to adapt to changing campaign priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications
● Knowledge of political organizing tools such as PDI or NGP VAN.
● Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for data management, reporting, and campaign logistics.
● Knowledge of groundwater issues, environmental justice, or grassroots power building
● Familiarity with Tulare County's demographics, political landscape, and historical challenges is advantageous.
● Proficiency in data management systems, digital organizing tools, and basic computer skills.
● Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
● Fluency in languages spoken within the target communities, such as Tagalog, Punjabi, Hmong, Portuguese, Mixteco, Triqui, and Zapoteco, are highly desirable.

Salary

Starting at $65,000 - $82,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications)
