Tracing its roots back to 1903,Catholic Charities is a faith-based non-profit organization serving Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union counties in northern New Jersey.. We provide help and create hope to all, regardless of religion, race, sex or national origin.
Last year Catholic Charities staff served more than 62,000 people through 87 programs including :shelters, emergency food distribution ,behavioral health, family counseling ,immigration services, day care centers, older adult services, workforce development and special education. With 26 locations throughout northern New Jersey, Catholic Charities strives to improve the quality of people's lives and enhance their self-worth by providing quality social services ,behavioral health and education programs
The VISTA will help recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers while growing the volunteer base and advancing individual and group partnerships.
Using social media strategies, the VISTA will recruit new volunteers and promote the mission and services of Catholic Charities to the public- at - large.
The VISTA will build capacity through outreach efforts to schools, faith-based groups and community organizations
The VISTA will help provide training and guidance to Catholic Charities staff, volunteers and interns on new volunteer management software.
Strong written and verbal communication
Detail oriented and highly organized
Proficiency with various social media platforms
Strong PC skills i Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently while in a team-oriented environment
*must be US citizen, national permanent resident
*must be 18 years of age older
*must have an Associate's Degree or higher level of education
