About the organization
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Under Secretary for Management, Office of the Chief Financial Officer. The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) is responsible for the fiscal management, integrity, and accountability of the Department of Homeland Security resources.
Duties
Duties may include:
-Develops short and long term strategies surrounding a variety of projects focused on mission requirements, including OCFO's current approach to and presence on multimedia platforms.
-Provides communication/outreach support throughout the organization, design and development stages of projects that will work in conjugation with communication/outreach efforts.
-Responsible for the improvement of strategic communication practices and reviewing content submitted for publication in periodicals and posting on OCFO and other internal and external websites.
-Responsible for assisting and monitoring project details, scheduling meetings, and consulting with OCFO leadership to determine other project requirements.
Qualifications
o GS-09: You qualify at the GS-09 grade level if you possess one of the following: A. To qualify for the GS-09 grade level you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal Service or equivalent in the private sector, which has given you the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. For this position, specialized experience is defined as: applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies for efficiency and program operations. Applying pertinent laws, regulations, policies and precedents effecting program support resources. Developing and applying new or modified work methods and program administrative processes.
OR
B. A Master's or equivalent graduate degree; Two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; (or an LL.B. or J.D., if related).
A Combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience as described above. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of the first year may be used to qualify for the GS-09 level.This job is an equal employment opportunity:
