Duties

Chemonics seeks a ChemYards Events & Outreach Manager for its Operations, Finance and Compliance Division (OFC) within its Global Health Supply Chain Office (GHSCO), located in Arlington, VA. The ChemYards Events & Outreach Manager works with the Facilities team in the Operations, Finance, and Compliance Division to serve as a community liaison between Chemonics and the Navy Yard area, ensuring an inclusive, user-friendly, mixed-use building environment that facilitates the work of the company and contributes to the greater community. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

“ChemYards” is Chemonics’ new headquarters. The 12-floor facility, including a fitness center, conference center, and bike room, is currently under construction in the Navy Yard neighborhood of Washington, DC. The future building will combine four Chemonics locations into one. Chemonics is slated to move in to ChemYards in late 2021. A major component of ChemYards’ vision is both developing and sustaining connections to the community.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
Minimum 3 years of community outreach and event planning experience required. Minimum 3 years of business operations and/or facilities experience desired
CMP, CSEP, or CPCE certification desired but not required
Experience coordinating events, managing logistics, identifying speakers, and developing agendas/materials
Experience building and managing strategic relationships with parties external to the organization
Experience creating and managing project plans to support effective implementation of programs and initiatives
Knowledgeable about space and meeting planning
Strong knowledge of MS Office applications; proficiency in Excel preferred
Strong initiative, organizational skills, work prioritization skills, and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings
Demonstrated ability to solve technical, managerial, or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge
Demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, respect for others, resourcefulness in problem solving, and initiative to learn new skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
