Browning High School Mentor
Montana Campus Compact
About the organization
Montana Campus Compact (MTCC) advances the public purposes of colleges and universities by deepening their ability to improve community life and to educate students for civic and social responsibility. Our organization is one of 35 State Affiliates of Campus Compact, a national coalition of more than 1,100 colleges and universities representing over 6 million students dedicated to promoting community service, civic engagement, and service-learning in higher education. MTCC also acts as an intermediary to place AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps VISTA members across the state of Montana.
Montana Campus Compact AmeriCorps Leaders commit to a year of service at a Montana school, college, or nonprofit where they support student success, promote college attainment, and achieve educational equity in our state. AmeriCorps Leaders mentor students, implement programs, and make a difference at nearly 20 service locations across Montana!
At Browning High School, the AmeriCorps member will serve the high school students of Browning, located on the Blackfeet Nation. As an AmeriCorps member, you will support high school students through tutoring, college application assistance, scholarship and FAFSA support, career exploration, and general academic support. You will also participate in college readiness program development and management, which could include drafting letters to parents, chaperoning campus visits, and contacting community organizations to participate in school events
AmeriCorps members receive a modest living stipend, professional development, and an education award that may be used to repay federal student loans or to cover future tuition expenses. They are also eligible to receive health insurance and child care support, in addition to other benefits. Learn more and apply at mtcompact.org!
