Since 1992, we have helped thousands of underrepresented young leaders serve our country, get on successful pathways to higher education and careers, and bring communities together to work for the common good. We operate our signature AmeriCorps program in 25 communities nationwide.
We believe that communities already have the leadership they need to create lasting social change. Public Allies seeks to find and cultivate those leaders and connect them to the issues and causes that ignite their passion.
This is a unique opportunity that offers hands-on experience working with our marketing, PR and programs teams. The selected intern will be working on real projects that highlight our work, tells stories of our families/kids and engages diverse audiences to get them involved with the Clubs. This candidate will work in the Program Services and Resource Development teams and in the Clubs, gaining broad experience in various aspects of marketing and storytelling.
The Public Ally will develop and assist on projects that include:
-Daily/weekly/regular marketing and promotional projects to highlight the work/programs in Clubs
-Create promotional content to boost following & engagement
-Help develop campaigns to educate/engage parents to choose the Clubs for out-of-school time care
-Brainstorm strategy and new creative ideas for content and campaigns
-Social media platform management (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter)
-Assist/lead n-house and off-site photoshoots
-Assist/lead in-house and off-site videography and video editing
-Strong, professional verbal communication/good judgement
-Excellent writing and creative content skills
-Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects and ongoing work items; while effectively managing changing priorities
-Innovative thinker and collaborative team player
