This position is located in the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP), Research Triangle Park, NC. Using sound science as a compass, OCSPP’s mission is to protect you, your family, and the environment from potential risks from pesticides and toxic chemicals. Through innovative partnerships and collaboration, we also work to prevent pollution before it begins. This reduces waste, saves energy and natural resources, and leaves our homes, schools and workplaces cleaner and safer.

Duties

Provide technical support to senior level experts and subject matter specialists on industrial chemicals, genetically-engineered microorganisms, and nanomaterials.

Provide scientific or engineering support for environmental fate and transport and exposure assessment activities.

Provide technical support to identify environmental fate and transport, exposure, and risk-related research needs.

When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may, at management’s discretion, be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses. The maximum promotion potential of this position is GS 13.

Qualifications

Qualifications based on an evaluation of a candidate’s education and qualifying experience.

Salary

Starting salary for a GS-9 employee is $44,471.00 per year at Step 1. Starting salary for a GS-11 employee is $55,204.00 per year at Step 1.
