Duties

POSITION SUMMARY: The Bilingual Youth Counselor (BYC) fluent in Spanish is member of a treatment team providing twenty-four-hour supervision for up to twelve adolescent males in a residential facility designed as a therapeutic environment. Within this setting youth receive individualized treatment, educational and vocation services, recreation and physical education activities. Youth Counselors support the Individual Treatment Plans and Strength Based Behavior Management Plans for each youth and act in accordance with the individual’s needs and abilities.
Renton Washington is located on the south end of Lake Washington approximately 15 minutes from downtown Seattle.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. BA or BS Degree preferred
2. Central American cultural experience preferred.
3. Bilingual Spanish - English

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be twenty-one years or older and have a valid Washington State driver’s license
or be able to obtain one within thirty days.
2. Must have a good driving record.
3. Must be able to pass an FBI background check
4. Must be able to accept the role of authority in a youth/adult relationship.
5. Must be able to function as a team member
6. Volunteer/work experience with youth.

Salary

$37,491 to $41,095 with benefits
