This position is at a large state agency where you will be exposed to many experiences, resources, and visionary staff to gain valuable knowledge, professional experience and connections that are tailored to your interests. Join the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (TXHHSC) Behavioral Health Services, Adult Mental Health (AMH) office in Austin. Behavioral Health Services Program staff provide programmatic, oversight, technical assistance, and support to contracted providers across Texas. As an AMH VISTA Member, you will be a part of a team of creative, proactive, and diverse professionals who work to enhance mental health services and programs throughout TXHHSC.
The selected Member will be a part of the Aging Services AmeriCorps VISTA project and will work on resources and projects that inform and motivate individuals, organizations, and providers to take a proactive approach to older adult mental health. They will gain experience and knowledge in adult mental health services, evidence-based practices, person centered practices, partnership building, provider engagement, budget management, contract management, quality management, state policy interpretation and development, state legislative requirements and will have the opportunity to gain professional experience while working in a state government setting.
An interest in working in a state government setting and with programs that serve older adults.
