About the organization
The City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA Program works with City departments and local nonprofits to build capacity, in order to provide resources and services to the Austin neighborhoods and communities that may otherwise be left behind by Austin's historic disparities and future growth. The AmeriCorps members serving with the City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA Program work in such diverse fields as education, health, waste reduction, and housing to cover the myriad ways poverty affects these neighborhoods and communities.
By August 2022, develop and implement a standard operating procedure for the acquisition, collection and interpretation of community feedback, based on research and analysis of past DAC campaigns, as well as other organizations. Use standard operating procedure to plan and implement two community engagement events to collect feedback on future Dougherty Arts Center (DAC) programming, and accessibility. By June 2022, develop and submit a report to the DAC on the data collected the from all community engagement events. This report will ultimately be submitted to the Parks and Recreation Leadership Team. By May 2022, conduct an overall audit of the pilot teen program, Works In Progress (WIP), and develop a strategy for long term sustainability. Investigate funding and partnership opportunities with other City of Austin departments, non-profit and community organizations, and universities and investigate the feasibility of partnership opportunities.
