When the school bell rings at the end of every day, thousands of kids across metro Denver pour out of classrooms and into their after school routines. For some, this means heading home where they are met by a parent who helps them with homework before driving them to basketball practice and piano lessons. For others in our community, after school options are far less certain, stable, and safe.

As one of the most well-known youth organizations in the country, Boys & Girls Clubs provide young people with opportunities to engage in programs that help them achieve academic success, take charge of their health by building healthy habits that will stick with them throughout their lives, and foster the skills they need to become leaders in their communities.


This position will plan, supervise and implement a variety of high-yield activities and targeted programs focused on athletics, health, fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a Club that sees 200-300 youth a day.

Activities should include: low-organized, intramural and team sport activities. Specifically, this position will be responsible for coaching a variety of sports including: baseball, softball, basketball, football, soccer, and volley ball for ages 6 to 18. This position will collaboratively organize and participate in club-wide and organizational-wide events.

This position helps members to make appropriate choices about their education, career, social, physical and emotional needs. The position also assesses the developmental needs, interests and characteristics of youth to develop targeted programs that result in an outcome-driven club experience.

Status: Full-time (32 hours per week)

Hours: Flexible hours but falls within 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. during the school year, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. during the summer

Pay Range: $15.00 per hour

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited institution of higher learning in education, human or social services, theatre, art or a related field of study. Equivalent experience directly serving youth in a similar role may be substituted on a year-by-year basis.

At least one year of direct youth service experience and will have a demonstrable record of planning and implementing youth programs. Previous experience working with at-risk youth is preferred, as is a background in education. Volunteer service may be substituted on a year-by-year basis.

Candidates must be able to pass a drug test, criminal and driving records investigation.

The successful candidate will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required. The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25lbs. Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion. The ability to read and write is necessary to complete reports and properly document program
and organizational data.

A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy is also
a requisite.

Continued employment is based upon the successful completion of Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED courses and maintaining your certification which is paid for and coordinated by BGCMD.
