Organizational Setting
The Transport Safety Unit is responsible for establishing and maintaining safety standards related to the worldwide safe transport of radioactive material, including the IAEA's Regulations for the Safe Transportof Radioactive Material, and to appraise the application of the safety standards in Member States. This includes efforts to foster the harmonized incorporation of the Transport Regulations and other associated safety standards by international organizations.

Main Purpose
Reporting to the Unit Head, the Associate Safety Officer provides technical assistance for the
implementation of the activities of the Transport Safety Unit relating to the Transport Safety eLearning Platform.

Role
The Associate Safety Officer provides technical assistance to the team by managing the development and maintenance of the eLearning platform for transport safety during the period in which Chinese, French, Arab, Russian, and Japanese language versions will be prepared by Member States. The Member State files are to be functionally checked, uploaded to the platform and launched.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Language Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
• Minimum two years-experience in the nuclear or radioactive material sectors.
• Previous experience in developing eLearning software would be an asset.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of one or more of the other
official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.

Salary

$47,000 after taxes
