Indigo is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Associate Manager to support a broad set of strategic activities that are core to Indigo’s success at the frontier of agricultural sustainability. You will be joining the Strategy team, a small and highly collaborative team that reports directly to Indigo’s Chief Strategy Officer. The position may be filled remotely (within the United States), but the ability to work regularly in Boston is a plus.
Partner with the Chief Strategy Officer and key Indigo executives to facilitate Indigo's corporate strategy process
Develop a cohesive plan to monetize agricultural sustainability opportunities through science, technology, and new business models; continuously evaluate new opportunities as they emerge
Develop solutions to help Indigo achieve synergies, cross-sell, and build longstanding competitive advantages across its products
Monitor and evaluate market dynamics (e.g., competitive landscape); determine their implications for Indigo's strategy
Collaborate with our Sustainability Policy team to maintain a comprehensive understanding of Carbon markets, standards for emissions reporting and climate goals, and fold them into our strategy
Collaborate with our Finance team to develop, maintain and critically analyze the financial forecast across Indigo's products
3-4 years of work experience
2+ years strategy consulting, environmental consulting and/or business startup experience
Carbon markets or sustainability experience a plus but not necessary
Agriculture experience a plus but not necessary
Strong desire to contribute to Indigo’s mission and to develop and maintain strong cross-team relationships
Able to ramp up quickly on complex subject matter with no prior knowledge and adapt within a dynamic environment
Able to produce high quality deliverables independently (e.g., memos, analyses, presentations)
Able to work cross functionally in a positive and team-oriented way whether as a project lead or as a contributor
Highly organized, thorough, reliable, and able to multi-task across multiple workstreams
Self-starter with an ability to prioritize work and execute with little guidance
Takes ownership in work: brings solutions not problems, makes progress not excuses
Brings quantitative rigor into analyses and business strategy decisions (e.g., forecasting)
Strong critical thinking: able to offer fresh perspectives and distill complex problems into clear frameworks and plans
Strong communication and presentation skills to wide range of audiences, external and internal
Able to influence across levels without authority
Strong desire to learn and to develop skill sets
Brings positive and growth-oriented outlook
