About the organization
The District Management Group (www.dmgroupk12.com) (“DMGroup”) partners with public school district leaders to help them improve student outcomes, operational efficiency, and resource allocation. School districts face a myriad of challenges – stagnant achievement results, budget crises, federal and state mandates, increasing accountability measures – and they need practical solutions that can be implemented quickly to get results.
The District Management Group was founded in 2004 with the goal of providing public school system leaders with superior strategic insights and practical solutions to the most common and pressing management challenges by combining educational and management best practices. DMGroup has become the trusted advisor to school district leaders across the country, helping them tackle their most important issues and achieve measurable results. DMGroup believes that leadership and management matter in our public school system.
We are recruiting Associates to join our consulting team in our Boston office. The position offers an opportunity to focus on the most strategic, high impact issues that school systems face and to work directly with respected leaders in K-12 public education. The implementation team focuses on working closely with the software development team and school districts to create products that not only identify but also solve complex issues across elementary, middle and high schools. Additionally, the implementation team is focused on developing projects and processes that can scale quickly and be applied to a wide range of district profiles.
The Associate role has a wide, evolving range of responsibilities, with opportunities for rapid advancement based on demonstrated success. The ideal candidate is interested in education technology with strong organizational and analytical skills. Typical responsibilities range from product development and implementation to usability testing and general QA associated with new product releases or enhancements.
Above all else, we look for two key qualities in our team members. The first is superior analytical strength. We seek individuals who possess the curiosity and force of intellect to take complex problems, conduct rigorous analyses, and present solutions in simple and concise terms. The second quality is a passion for service. We seek to hire individuals who derive genuine pleasure from providing a level of service far beyond what is required, and who care deeply about improving our nations’ schools.
Skills & Experience:
Candidates for the Associate position are preferred to have 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience
(software implementation, customer support, or work in a school in some type of operations based role ideally) and a record of outstanding academic achievement and extracurricular leadership. Candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills and be capable of supporting and growing relationships at all levels of an organization from a Superintendent to principal to teacher. Individuals should be comfortable developing these relationships to ensure we have continued opportunities to serve districts and schools.
Candidates should possess excellent problem solving and brainstorming skills, comfort with quantitative and statistical analysis, and experience with MS Office and G Suite products. Candidates should be able to work both independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
