Duties

Organizational Purpose and Background
The YWCA Southern Arizona was founded in 1917 with a mission to eliminate
racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for
all. The integration of vulnerable women, particularly women of color, is--and will continue to be--critical to our civic, cultural, and economic vibrancy. Today YWCA membership is open to all
people, and it has not been a religious organization for more than fifty years. Our
mission is Eliminating Racism, Empowering Women and Promoting Peace,
Justice, Freedom and Dignity for All.
The AmeriCorps member will help design the process and procedures to be
implemented in the rebuilding of the Corazon social enterprises for food
entrepreneur training, commercial kitchen access, and rental of YW commercial
space.
II. Project Focus Areas and Activities
A. Community Asset Mapping: The member will lead the mapping out of
program deliverables process and identify partners.
B. Training Development: The member will research best practices and
support development of a training curriculum around food

Qualifications

● Bilingual: Spanish - English (Required)
● College Degree or equivalent experience required
● 18 years or older, no upper age limit. All ages are welcome and
encouraged to apply
● Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Internet-
based communications
● Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team setting in a
consistent, energetic, positive manner
● Strong organizational and time management skills
● Group facilitation and public speaking skills
● Strong skills in utilizing social media
● Self-motivated; ability to work with minimal supervision
● Effective problem-solving skills
● Ability and desire to work with a variety of individuals
● Ability to understand "big picture" while completing detail-oriented tasks
● Friendly and effective interpersonal skills
● Consistent and reliable access to a vehicle required

Salary

$8,471 for 8 months of service
