Arizona Serve - Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona Business Engagement and Marketing Specialist
About the organization
The Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona (DBSA) addresses the need for diapers, incontinence, and period supplies in our region. Founded in 1994, DBSA is the nation’s first dedicated diaper bank established in the United States, and a proud member of the Alliance for Period Supplies. DBSA currently distributes over 1,000,000 products to individuals and families each year.
One in three babies in Arizona are born into poverty and nearly 10% of adults 65 or older live at or below the federal poverty line, with numbers on the rise. 1 in 4 women and girls report missing work or school due to a lack of period supplies. The AmeriCorps VISTA member will serve as the Business Engagement & Marketing Professional. Working with DBSA’s CEO, staff, and team of volunteer Ambassadors, the VISTA will work to inspire others in our mission to alleviate the need for these essential supplies.
Strengthen Volunteer Ambassador Program The VISTA will strengthen the Diaper Bank Volunteer Ambassador program to create more networking opportunities among volunteer participants and increase volunteer hours and donations to the Diaper Bank
Network with community partners: The VISTA will create and strengthen relationships with community organizations throughout Southern Arizona including, but not limited to, businesses, faith based institutions, and academic institutions. These organizations will be based not only in urban Pina County, but in other southern Arizona communities.
Create a plan for sustainable market: The VISTA will create a “Standards of Work” outlining repeatable processes such as: initial engagement protocols for Ambassadors, presentations, events, and personal contacts. Using existing software they will review business engagement tracking. They will also collect data on on-going engagement and relationships by collecting data on personal contact, connecting-with-the-mission events, appreciation efforts, and others.
