About the organization
Catholic Charities Diocese of Palm Beach Volunteer Services provides on-going support to the fifteen active, growing, and extremely diverse Programs and Ministries who serve clients and help people throughout our five-county Diocese. Volunteers play a vital role in many of our programs and ministries, such as Birthline, Counseling, Anti-Human Trafficking, Immigration Legal Services, Refugee Resettlement, and Hunger & Homeless Outreach. The Volunteer Services program serves as a liaison between these programs and ministries and potential and existing volunteers in the community. We help staff learn how to work with volunteers most effectively as well as matching volunteers’ skills and interests with the appropriate volunteer opportunity.
This VISTA member will support CCDPB through capacity-building. Specifically, this VISTA position will target: volunteer recruitment, orientation, and essentially volunteer management in all its most essential aspects; volunteer retention through recognition and appreciation; volunteer scheduling, tracking, evaluating; and deployment/ program placement. This will include coordinating volunteers for specific projects; expanding use and scope of the agency's Client Track database utilized in tracking volunteer numbers, hours, and program trends; assisting with website portal update; and working with the volunteers on the annual Bishop's Gala.
