About the organization
Catholic Charities of East Tennessee (CCETN) is providing an opportunity for a Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator. This Coordinator will manage volunteers and promote program service. The successfully candidate is responsible for coordinating with program leadership to assess and develop new and exciting volunteer opportunities in order to effectively increase and utilize a volunteer workforce. Additionally, the Coordinator will build the volunteer program using software, great communication skills, and creativity. Along with coordinating, the successful candidate will be working with community stakeholders to grow awareness of our programs though outreach. The goal, while having fun, is to grow volunteers, foster community relationships, and increase outreach in East Tennessee. Furthermore, the goal is to actively develop the current volunteer base of about 100 active volunteers to around 300 active volunteers through community outreach and promotion of volunteerism.
In collaboration with CCETN staff and support, the VISTA member will implement a sustainable volunteer management system and draft operational procedures through the utilization of technology to promote volunteer engagement and management efficiency. To that end, the VISTA member will collaborate with staff to identify volunteer opportunities and roles, evaluate and place volunteers, communicate with active volunteers to promote sustainable service/satisfaction in placement, and train staff and volunteers on utilizing the software platform. Furthermore, the VISTA member will work to engage the community to promote and sustain volunteerism through various mediums such as social media, email campaigns, parish engagement, survey drafting, and designing a recognition/gratitude program for volunteer appreciation.
