About the organization

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) meets compelling needs in Denton County by recruiting and placing adults 55 plus within the following focus areas: Disaster Services, Economic Opportunity, Education, Environmental Stewardship, Healthy Futures and other Community Priorities based on assessed needs.

Chisholm Trail RSVP, Inc. also hosts an AmeriCorps VISTA program.The mission of AmeriCorps VISTA is to start, strengthen, or expand programs, systems or services that help people move out of poverty. To put it simply, AmeriCorps VISTA is a domestic Peace Corps. AmeriCorps VISTA has been helping build communities across America for the last 50 years and continues to assist in the alleviation of poverty issues.


We have multiple full time volunteer opportunities in the North Texas area to share with our returning Peace Corps Volunteers. AmeriCorps VISTA prides its founding identity as the "State-Side Peace Corps" and would like to offer the following Volunteer Roles:

Community Enrichment Center - Community Engagement VISTA (North Richland Hills, TX)
Community Enrichment Center - Family Engagement VISTA (North Richland Hills, TX)
Plano Community Homes - Social Media Marketing VISTA (Plano, TX)
Pathfinders - Resource Development VISTA (Fort Worth,TX)
Health Services of North Texas - Communications VISTA (Denton, TX)
Minnie's Food Pantry - Community Engagement VISTA (Plano, TX)
In My Shoes - Marketing and Development VISTA


Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, 18 or older, and the ability to pass a background and references check.


$479-$509 (Bi-weekly Stipend)
