The Ohio CDC Association is a statewide membership organization that fosters vibrant neighborhoods and improves the quality of life in all communities through advocacy and capacity building of our member agencies. OCDCA's vision is the creation of a community development environment that comprehensively improves life opportunities for all Ohioans.

Over its 25-plus years history, Ohio CDC Association has been listening to Community Development Corporations in Ohio and responding with resources to help its members with capacity-building, advocacy and public policy development with the mission of fostering socially and economically healthy communities.

Throughout the years, OCDCA has worked with its members to come closer to the realization of a community development environment that comprehensively improves life opportunities for all residents. We are proud to have been part of the development of Ohio CDCs, and are looking forward to the future.

Duties

The VISTA Leader will assist with the support and coordination of the OCDCA VISTA Project, which places over 35 Members at community development corporations throughout the state of Ohio in order to make lasting change through capacity building. The VISTA Leader will foster communication among VISTA Members and serve as a role model, trainer, and resource provider for these VISTA Members. The Leader will also be responsible for assisting the VISTA Program Manager in reporting and grant writing related to the OCDCA VISTA Project. OCDCA is looking for a VISTA Leader who is highly organized, an apt communicator, and is passionate about furthering the VISTA program. Prior knowledge or experience in the community development field is preferred. Start date is flexible.

Qualifications

- Prior AmeriCorps or Peace Corps service required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Conflict resolution experience
- Volunteer recruitment and retention experience
