About the organization

The city of Quincy experienced unprecedented damage as a result of 2018's Hurricane Michael. The city would like to partner with the AmeriCorps VISTA program in its long-term recovery efforts to identify economic development and infrastructure needs so that capacity can be built and a better quality of life can be established for its citizens. Through the management and implementation of its economic development projects, including the National Parks Service concept design, the city's economy and community engagement will be bolstered.

Duties

The VISTA will work with stakeholders to identify projects and implement plans for downtown economic development and the National Parks concept design. Tracking systems will be designed which will monitor resources, partners, and the funding for the successful implementation of these projects. A communications plan will be designed that will engage shareholders and local residents to lead to community buy-in and engagement. Finally, the VISTA will analyze data pertaining to land development to identify trends and projections for economic growth and future stability
