AmeriCorps VISTA - Chattahoochee Main Street Outreach and Events Coordinator

Be Ready Alliance Coordinating For Emergencies

About the organization

Chattahoochee Main Street is working to create a thriving Main Street District as the community rebounds from the devastation caused by 2018's category 5 Hurricane Michael. The goal of the program is to establish an active outreach strategy, including social media, website, and newsletter correspondence with local residents that will improve the effectiveness and viability of the local Main Street businesses. Additionally, a fundraising campaign will be developed to stimulate community partnerships. Reestablishment and promotion of community events will also be pivotal in engaging citizens to foster a more cohesive community as it recovers from the devastation caused by Hurricane Michael.

VISTA will develop and implement an outreach and communications system through social media, monthly newsletters, and website postings for the residents of Chattahoochee, FL. Additionally, a fundraising and public relations campaign will be designed and managed to promote the mission of the Main Street project, including local media interviews, print media, and social media postings. VISTA will maintain an inventory system of local downtown businesses and promote opportunities for business expansion. Finally, regular local events will be re-established and virtual opportunities developed to stimulate active participation and funds generation for the Main Street District.
