About the organization

A Mission Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching: We Serve Everyone Regardless of Faith...

Catholic Charities fulfills the Church’s role in the mission of charity to anyone in need by providing compassionate, competent and professional services that strengthen and support individuals, families and communities based on the value and dignity of human life. In order to remain faithful to our mission, Catholic Charities is guided by these core values: Respect, Compassion, Competence and Stewardship.

Far from limiting our focus, our Catholic identity and values enable us to truly be “universal,” which is what “catholic” really means. The tenets of Catholic Social Teaching call us to serve everyone, regardless of their belief or background, and to employ anyone, not just Catholics, who commits to our mission. Christ reached out to people of all faiths, and Catholic Charities does the same, with the goal of transforming lives for the better.

VISTA works collaboratively with staff to implement the strategic plan that clarifies the center’s mission, more effectively engages the community, and identifies opportunities to develop innovative programs and partnerships. They will facilitate client focus groups to identify areas for growth; engage in community outreach to help us build new partnerships and raise awareness of the center; coordinate outreach and marketing, recruit and train new volunteers/leaders who can help us continue doing this work; develop curriculums on early childhood education, college applications, job readiness, financial literacy and other 2Gen topics; and assist with grant writing to launch new programs and ensure sustainability. Other activities may include organizing regional meetings for service providers; and assisting with community outreach to ensure the key stakeholders recognize the importance of using a 2Gen approach.
