About the organization
United Way of East Central Iowa (UWECI) works with more than 100 cross-sector partners to fight for the education, financial stability, and health of every member of our community. The Opportunity Center focuses on providing community members with learning, job-skills, and certification and accreditations to help them gain or improve their employment status.
This project is part of the Community Corps VISTA Program, operated by Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact. The program strives to eliminate poverty through campus-community partnerships by placing full-time capacity building support in nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions. There are three focus areas, this project being in the Opportunity Corps which supports sites in long-term approaches to issues related to personal economic success incl
Member Duties: The Opportunity Center VISTA will research the development of Employee Resource Networks in other communities to assist the Steering Committee in selecting a model for our community.
