About the organization

Montana Campus Compact (MTCC) serves as the intermediary for this project. MTCC is a CEO-led coalition of colleges and universities that support civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across the state. Every year we place cohorts of full-time, part-time, and summer AmeriCorps members with schools, colleges, nonprofits, and government agencies in Montana. The AmeriCorps projects we facilitate increase educational equity, break down barriers between higher education and community organizations, and address the root causes of poverty in communities across the state.

Duties

The Vice Provost for Student Success Office (VPSS) at the University of Montana aims to support all student needs outside of the classroom. The VPSS works to ensure that students are meeting their needs in all aspects of their life so that they are in the optimal conditions to foster learning and personal development. The AmeriCorps member will serve as a College Coach to help support retention, persistence, and student success work within the VPSS Office. Working with the VPSS, Associate Vice Provost, and the Dean of Students, the AmeriCorps member will support the following initiatives: New Student Enrollment process, Parent and Family Association and Council, Student Success and Retention Task Force, Career Readiness, and Faculty Fellow Program. will work with the Admissions Office to connect with and guide prospective students through the new student orientation process from admittance to course registration. You will also help establish the Fall 2024 Parent and Family Council, create and establish the homecoming parent reception, and create and plan the parent reception for the summer 2025 student move-in.
