About the organization

The Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits was formed in 2004 to be the unifying voice of the nonprofit sector in Arizona. We are the only statewide association dedicated to serving the needs of the more than 20,000 nonprofit organizations all across Arizona. We do this through advocacy, education, information, connection and resources, which are tailored specifically for nonprofits, their staff, their board and their volunteers.

For over 10 year, the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits has managed an AmeriCorps VISTA grant specifically to fight poverty in rural communities and statewide organizations. AmeriCorps VISTA members make a year-long, full time commitment to serve on a specific project at a nonprofit organization or public agency. Projects can vary and are not limited to: developing outreach and marketing campaigns, writing grants, program management, and volunteer management.


The goal of the project is to support the county school superintendent’s office which assists the county’s k-12 educators by providing sustainable programming that will encourage better educational outcomes for educationally and economically disadvantaged students.

Member Duties : Organize the School Inhaler Program Develop professional development networks among permanent staff to support the development, growth, and self-sustainability Create a Drop Out Recovery program for students who have been absent for more than 30 days Increase the school districts brand presence throughout the community.


AmeriCorps VISTA members must be at least 18 years old, pass a criminal background check, and have a college degree.

AmeriCorps VISTA service is open to all US Citizens, US Nationals, Lawful Permanent Residents, and persons legally residing in a state.

We are looking for a person with knowledge of or experience in Computers/Technology, Teaching/Tutoring, Survey, Communications, Education, Fund raising/Grant Writing.
