About the organization
The Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits was formed in 2004 to be the unifying voice of the nonprofit sector in Arizona. We are the only statewide association dedicated to serving the needs of the more than 20,000 nonprofit organizations all across Arizona. We do this through advocacy, education, information, connection and resources, which are tailored specifically for nonprofits, their staff, their board and their volunteers.
For over 10 years, the Alliance of Arizona has overseen an AmeriCorps VISTA grant to fight poverty in rural communities and statewide organizations. AmeriCorps VISTA members make a year-long, full time commitment to serve on a specific project at a nonprofit organization or public agency. Projects can vary and are not limited to: developing outreach and marketing campaigns, writing grants, program development, and volunteer management.
Nexus Coalition for Drug Prevention is the only substance abuse prevention coalition in Navajo County. Coalition resources work to support youth in building life skills through several school-based curricula, classes for justice involved youth and community events. Adults gain skills through community-based trainings including trauma informed care and parenting education.
Member Duties : Providing outreach and education support that: increases life skills; reduces substance abuse; saves lives; and builds stronger, healthier communities in Navajo County.
AmeriCorps VISTA members must be at least 18 years old, pass a criminal background check, and have a college degree. AmeriCorps VISTA service is open to all US Citizens, US Nationals, Lawful Permanent Residents, and persons legally residing in a state. We are looking for a person with knowledge of or experience in Recruitment, Public Speaking, Computers/Technology, Team Work, Social Media/Marketing, Video, Writing/Editing, Communications.
