Review Clean Air Act Title V and New Source Review permitting actions by state air pollution control agencies for adherence to Federal policy and applicable Federal requirements and permitting regulations. Provide technical assistance to state air pollution control agencies on control measures, technologies, and strategies to meet the requirements of the Clean Air Act related to New Source Review permitting, New Source Performance Standards, and National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants. Communicate policy and procedural guidelines to state air pollution control agencies, and work with them to coordinate the development of permit-related actions and regulations. Coordinate with other Federal agencies and EPA program offices in the National Environmental Policy Act review of the air quality impacts of stationary source and ocean energy projects. Join a new project to assist state and local air pollution control agencies with developing database scripts or queries to connect their existing air permit database to EPA’s new national Electronic Permitting System. Experience with SQL, php/Python and API development is desired. No prior knowledge of the Clean Air Act or air quality permitting is required.


All candidates who want to be considered MUST have NCE and a bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.


$36,786 - 55,738, depending on education and experience (GS levels 5, 7, and 9), position has a career ladder to a GS-12 (starting at $ 80,830),
